Roseart Frequently Asked Questions

1. When did Roseart come out with wood products?

Answer: Roseart first started selling wood products in 1959.

2. When did the Roseart products come out that had an oil industry logo on them?

Answer: In 1959, Mr. Philip M. Rose developed the “Oils First Century Medallion”
series which was to pay tribute to the oil industry. He had an emblem attached to the
wood lighters, cigarette boxes and ashtrays. He also offered bronze money clips, key tags,
cuff links, tie clips, trivets bookends, bridge pads, memo pads, cigarette box letter openers,
and ashtrays. The beautifully designed solid bronze covers on the cigarette box and bridge
pads were exact reproductions of Benvenuto Cellini originals.

3. What colors of marble are the oldest lighters?

Answer: Mr. Philip M. Rose first came out with four marble colors. They were the
Lafayette, Franciscan, Galilee and Vermont Verde colors. He later introduced Black Knight.

4. Are there any other colors of marble lighters that were made?

Answer: Yes. Mr. Philip M. Rose introduced a brown marble which he called Napoleon.
There was also an Italian Golden Vein that was white and an Italian Black and gold lighter.
He also made a Norwegian Pink color.
